Always say “my peace is more important” when you find yourself reacting to something that doesn’t deserve your energy. Prioritize your inner wellness and cultivate an active mindset of peace by consciously deciding that you’ll elevate higher than any situation that arises.

You can call me lame but i love birthday because of the wishes. I rarely get presents from friends or anyone, mostly only from family. But i never expected anything from anyone. Warm wishes, and good words praying for happiness and wellness is all i need, once in a year.
If you work a comfy office job, time with your family is part of "a healthy work-life balance" and steeped in "wellness" rhetoric. If you're a blue collar worker it's presented as a conflict line in a dispute with management.
We keep adding on more expectations of things for educators to do “on their own time” and expecting them to happily give up whatever shred of balance they have “for the kids”. Then we gaslight them when their wellness plummets by saying they “aren’t engaging in self-care.”
